Biography
Coach Lina has been instructing players of all ages and levels since 2020. She works with everyone from peewee beginners to college-bound competitors to retirees, with a strong emphasis on technique, strategy, and a love for the game.
Raised in a tennis family spanning three generations, Lina grew up immersed in the sport. Her father, Dave Larson (Lars), played on the men’s team at Stanford and coached at the Vic Braden Tennis Academy before his career in the tennis industry. Her mother competed in the German Bundesliga and coached for several years. Lina and her younger brother trained at Central Park Tennis Club in Kirkland, Washington, and later under Vitaly Gorin.
Despite competing in juniors and receiving several collegiate offers, Lina chose not to play in college in order to pursue filmmaking. She stepped away from tennis for several years and returned to the sport at the start of the pandemic, this time as a coach. Standing on the other side of the student-coach relationship changed her perspective and allowed her to see the deeper value of the game.
Through teaching, Lina came to understand how tennis builds confidence, discipline, and community in her life as an adult. Coaching helped her reconnect with the sport in a deeper, more meaningful way and rediscover why it matters both on and off the court. Today, her goal is simple: to make tennis approachable, supportive, and fun for every player she works with.

In 2025 Lina traveled internationally to support, coach, and mentor an American, Top 20 ITF Junior-ranked player, who was Singles Finalist at the 2025 J200 Brazil Cup in both singles and doubles, and won the Singles Championship at the J500 Banana Bowl, both in Brazil. She doesn't take credit for the results, but believes her acai bowl bribes may have helped with extra motivation to win.
Lina also runs her own tennis summer camps, blending her two passions, Tennis and Art, fostering well-rounded youth development. She aims to be a role model to young girls, promoting life skills they can take off the court surrounding good sportsmanship, integrity, inclusivity, and self-confidence.
